The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has banned James Faulkner from participating in the further editions of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) following his violent behaviour, and unethical demands.
Faulkner, the Australian batter, raised an issue mentioning ‘ill-treatment’ by the PCB alongside citing ‘payment delays’ following the lies. However, the Board denied the claims terming them ‘false’ and later released a detailed clarification.
In seven years of PSL, no such case has arrived. PSL, undoubtedly, is an international brand, welcoming all the guests warmly. So far, every international player has uttered words of praises for the nation’s hospitality and quality cricket. Faulkner’s case is the first and last with such claims.
According to salary policy, all players were paid 70% of their amounts before the league started. Hereby, Faulkner got his payment in the UK-based bank account he provided. According to the board, Faulkner demanded a duplicate of his salary in his Australian bank account, which is unacceptable and unethical, meaning he demands 2x of what was committed.
As a consequence, Faulkner protested by not featuring in Quetta Gladiators’ encounter against Multan Sultans. He asked for travel arrangements and has sent back to this realm earlier today.
While leaving the hotel, he threw his bat and helmet at the chandelier, which could have fallen at the people standing below. The act of terrorism is highly condemned by social users. Undeniably, if any Pakistani player would have done this in an Australian hotel, he would have been jailed under the charges of terrorism.
Not only this but Faulkner also misbehaved with the security staff at the airport.
The player has a tainted past as he was banned for two years after drink-driving with hefty charges imposed on him. Also, what he did to Pakistan Cricket today, he has done the same to his home cricket – Faulkner withdrew himself from Hobart Hurricanes in 2021, citing similar reasons, and later joined the T10 league for extra pennies.
The PCB will soon release the ‘payment send’ proof alongside his violent and abusive acts footage.
