The West Indies Cricket Team has arrived in Pakistan to compete in a three-match ODI series starting from June 8th. To note that these ODIs are part of the last year’s Pak vs WI series and were cancelled due to the COVID surge in the West Indies camp.
Pak vs WI ODIs were initially scheduled to be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium but now will take place at Multan Stadium amidst the nation’s political situation.
Notably, the West Indies are struggling to win an ODI series versus Pakistan for the last 31 years, but have failed to do so. In the upcoming series, they are all prepared to grab the chance. The last time they won was back in 1991 when they defeated the Imran Khan-led squad under the captaincy of Richie Richardson.
However, despite the fact that West Indies are yet to win an ODI series against the men in green for more than three decades, they have won more 50-over encounters than Pakistan if one sees Pak vs WI ODI head to head records.
Pakistan and West Indies have faced each other in 134 matches in One Day Internationals. Out of these, Pakistan have won 60 whereas West Indies have come out victorious on 71 occasions and three matches ended as ‘tied’.
