Australia’s top-notched batter Steve Smith has revealed the names of the Pakistani bowlers who were almost unplayable for him during the Australia tour of Pakistan 2022.
Talking in Cricket Australia’s The Unplayable Podcast, Smith revealed pacers Hasan Ali’s and Shaheen Shah Afridi’s swing attacks were critical for him to get.
“Facing reverse swing was a difficult task for us during our tour to Pakistan. When I used to come at batting, I had to face a fierce spell of reverse swing. Then, I had to change my plan. Shaheen and Hassan were too good on Pakistani pitches. They were unplayable most of the time,”
Smith regrets not scoring a century on the Pakistani soil and said it took much time for him to understand the nature of the pitches there.
“It took me some time to understand swing bowling in Pakistan. That’s why I wasn’t able to score centuries,”
Notably, the guests thrashed the hosts by 1-0 in a three-match Test series winning the final match in Lahore’s Gadaffi Stadium.
