Shahid Afridi believes IPL is destroying the essence of International Cricket
Pakistan’s former well-known cricketer, Shahid Afridi believes that the T20 leagues are affecting the essence of international cricket. His statement has come in the light of South Africa’s reliant and big names moving to India despite their home series going on against Pakistan.
Many wonder that how Cricket South Africa (CSA) has granted NOC to the players to fly to India for participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) despite Pak vs SA three-match ODI and four-match T20I series on the way.

Afridi did not directly mention that IPL is the major reason as he wrote ‘T20 leagues’ but it is crystal clear after Rabada, Anrich Nortje, De Kock and many more have flown away to feature in the cash-rich T20 league.

Here is his Tweet:
Surprising to see @OfficialCSA allowing players to travel for IPL in the middle of a series. It is sad to see T20 leagues influencing international cricket. Some rethinking needs to be done!! https://t.co/5McUzFuo8R

Notably, South Africa’s notable fast bowler, Dale Steyn also tweeted earlier mentioning that how the big dogs (big names) from the team miss out to play IPL. He also made a bold claim saying money attracts players in the IPL.
