New Zealand’s batting great, Ross Taylor has bid adieu to international cricket, playing his last international match versus the Netherlands on Monday.
Back on 30th December, he announced he will retire from international cricket after the conclusion of the home season, including the Tests versus Bangladesh, and the ODI series versus Australia and the Netherlands respectively.
“Today I’m announcing my retirement from international cricket at the conclusion of the home summer, two more tests against Bangladesh, and six odi’s against Australia & the Netherlands. Thank you for 17 years of incredible support. It’s been an honour to represent my country #234”
The recent NZ vs NED three-match ODI series has been his last limited-over task. Whereas, he played his last Test versus Bangladesh earlier this year. Not only the mates, but the Netherlands cricketers also paid Guard of Honour to the legendary cricketer.
The right-handed batter is retiring as the highest run-scorer for New Zealand in Test and ODI cricket. Also, he is the only New Zealand to play 100 plus games in all three formats.
