Ramiz Raja gives green signals to tri-nation series in New Zealand

tri-nation series in New Zealand

Ramiz Raja, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed a tri-nation series in New Zealand before the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The series will compose of Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand, and will be acting as a practice panel before the marquee event for the participants.

The PCB has been showing its interest in a tri or four-nation series for a long. After Cricket Australia (CA) presented its idea for a tri-nation series in Australia including India and Pakistan to revive Pak vs Ind cricket, Ramiz opined adding England as well.

Despite the keen interest of CA and PCB, the ECB and BCCI showed no interest and the proposal was cancelled. However, the PCB’s wish to go for a tri-nation series comes true as they will fly for England on October 4.

The New Zealand Cricket (NZC) is likely to reveal the schedule for a tri-nation series in a shorter course. After the series will be closed, the teams will fly to Australia for the World Cup 2022.

Notably, before heading towards New Zealand, Pakistan will host England for a seven-match T20I series. Upon their return from the World Cup, England’s tour of Pakistan will be winded up with a two-match Test series.
