The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has favored Javed Afridi, the owner of Peshawar Zalmi, as the social forums and the cricket community go against him.

The scenario develops as the Zalmi denied entering the stadium on LQ vs PZ day as a consequence of the team’s coach and captain not being allowed.

Notably, Wahab Riaz and Darren Sammy breached the code of conduct related to COVID and had to be quarantined for at least three days. However, they were in the stadium without completing their mandatory isolation period.

There was a lot of criticism on the scenario and Afridi was to be blamed on it. People say the virus would have not entered with Sammy, Wahab but the rules were broken showing no ethnicity and dedication towards rules.

However, the Spokesperson of the PCB, Sami ul Hasan Burney has spoken entirely in favor of Javed Afridi as he says not even a single Zalmi player was tested positive despite breaching the codes.

Here are the statements:

It is totally wrong to blame the Peshawar Zalmi team for postponing the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Not a single player or official of the Peshawar Zalmi team was tested positive which is a clear sign of their commitment towards the spirit of the game and following the SOPs to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Sami also added that the Wahab, Sammy, and Afridi later apologized for their actions and isolated themselves. He says that they submitted a written apology and were embarrassed about their actions.

Javed Afridi, Wahab Riaz, and Darren Sammy apologized for it and later they isolate themselves but fortunately, their tests were negative.
