Today, Ramiz Raja, the newly elected chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), met the heads of the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) and other boards in a meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in Dubai to discuss hosting big cricket events in Pakistan.
The meeting has turned out to be fruitful as Pakistan, reliably reported, has gotten the hosting rights of Asia Cup 2023. Notably, the event will be played in the ODI format across the Pakistani stadiums.

Earlier, Pakistan was set to host Asia Cup 2020, but the hosting rights were swapped to Sri Lanka following India’s denial over visiting the green shirts’ land. However, the event got suspended till 2021 Summers followed by another disappointment due to the cricket-packed schedule of the calendar year.
The men in green’s nation retained the hosting rights as Asia Cup 2020 is set to take place in 2023. Notably, Sri Lanka is set to host the already scheduled Asia Cup 2022 hence, they will not be hosting the 2023 event. It is pertinent to mention that Asia Cup 2022 will be played in the T20 format.
