LQ vs IU: Qalandars reach their second HBL PSL final

After thrashing Islamabad United in the Eliminator 2 of the HBL PSL 2022, Lahore Qalandars have made it to their second PSL final in seven years. Shaheen Shah Afridi and co will be locking horns with the anticipated Multan Sultans in the season’s grand finale on 27th February, Sunday, at Gadaffi Stadium.

Qalandars earlier reached their first-ever PSL final in 2020 but faced a stroke of bad luck versus Karachi Kings. The PSL 2022 final is not going to be easy for the two participants since Sultans are eying to revenge Qalandars seeking their only loss during the league stage.

Notably, Mohammad Rizwan’s men kick-started their PSL 2022 journey with a thrilling win versus Karachi Kings and maintained the winning streak of six. However, in their seventh match, they faced a collapse versus the Qalandars. Sultans made sure to win the next three encounters in line, making it nine out of ten wins.

Moreover, the men in blue-green became the first team to qualify for the play-offs reaching the qualifiers. Also, overpowering Qalandars in the Qualifiers, they became the first to be in the season’s final.

The houseful is expected at Gadaffi on Sunday since MS vs LQ is going to be the greatest over the seven years. Sultans, on the one hands, will be looking to defend their title, whereas, the Qalandars will be seeking to lift their first-ever PSL trophy.
