The sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 6) is just a few days ahead as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be welcoming the extravaganza from 1st June. A few uncleared exemptions’ approvals from the UAE’s end to PCB have given a green signal to resume the PSL 6.

It is pertinent to write that the league was called off midway after multiple COVID-19 bio-secure bubble breaches were reported. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the PSL franchises united on a mutual decision to postpone the edition until the COVID surge in the nation gets better.

With passing time, with no intentions of giving up on the league, Karachi, National Stadium, was chosen as the venue to organize the remaining matches of the HBL PSL 6. However, on the massive demand of the stakeholders who disagree to commence the event despite health threats in the country, the authorities found no better venue than the UAE.

Along with that, the player replacement draft took place on 22nd May, as a consequence of which the six teams have picked their preferences. Notably, many foreign players refrained from playing the league amidst either the flight issues or health inclination over their participation in the league.

The big names of the unavailable foreign players include George Linde of South Africa, Usman Khawaja, Ben Cutting and Joe Burns of Australia, Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, and Mahmudullah of Bangladesh.

It was allowed for all teams to pick over two extra players to avoid any ebb and flow later in the squad, considering the COVID-19 related assumptions. The six teams have withheld the additional player submissions, and the remaining picks will be on-screened as per the choices later.
