The closing ceremony of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) is under the planning process since the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking to revitalize the lost colours of the top-notched league.
It must be noted since the COVID outbreak in 2020, there have not been any grand opening or closing ceremonies and the fans truly have been missing the essence of it. Also, the last two editions, despite the board’s unwillingness, were moved to the UAE.
The IPL 2022, with lots of effort put in, is organized within the Indian backyard. It is the 70-game contest, with the courtesy of two new teams added, making it a ten-team tournament this year. Notably, the extravaganza is underway across four venues in Maharashtra.
As far as the closing ceremony is concerned, it is likely to take place in Ahmedabad, where the grand finale of the season is scheduled for 29th May. As soon as the event management company will be finalized, the BCCI will officialize the decision with the rest of the details.
A source stated,
“We are discussing to have closing ceremony this year final is in Ahmedabad and we wanted to bring the colour of IPL back so you might see closing ceremony. The idea is under process we are yet to take the final call on it once decision will be taken will appoint event management company for the same,”
