Former England skipper Michael Vaughan has stepped down as a BBC commentator after the heated debate on the racism probe in Yorkshire. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) charged Vaughan and others in the case earlier this month.
After Azeem Rafiq’s racism scandal went viral, there were various stepping downs for the accused bodies. In the reports, the name of Vaughan for allegations of racism has been mentioned.
Rafiq had said that during the game for Yorkshire in 2009, Vaughan told him and other Asian players there were “too many of you lot, we need to do something about it.”
England’s bowler Adil Rashid and former Pakistani cricketer Rana Naveed ul Hasan confirmed Rafiq’s remarks saying they heard the words from Vaughan.
