Eoin Morgan gives heartbreak to England Cricket

England’s white-ball cricket captain Eoin Morgan has decided to retire from international cricket on Tuesday, 28 June. His decision has come in the enlightenment of his suffering form and fitness.

Since the last many innings, Morgan has been dealing with a series of injuries sidelining him from the game and giving him less to contribute with the bat. In his last 28 innings, he has only managed two half-centuries.

Despite the concerns raised on his form and fitness, Morgan is looking to pave way for others to join England’s limited-overs format captaincy. As revealed by his mate Moeen Ali, the vice-captain Jos Buttler is likely to take over.

We’ve been so strong over the years and he probably feels like his time is done and that he’s given enough time for Jos, or whoever the captain is going to be, to embed his way,”

It must be noted Morgan became the successor of Sir Alastair Cook in 2014 ahead of the World Cup 2015. Out of his 7701 ODI runs, he scored 744 runs in 23 ODIs for his native country, Ireland. Morgan made his T20I debut in 2009 for England and has gathered 2458 runs. He has also featured in 16 Test matches for the three Lions.
