Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria, who suffered a ban from the game while playing for County Club Essex, although has not been around the game, but shares his opinions on the different cricket matters and players on his YouTube channel.
In one of the recent videos, Danish’s concern has been the wicketkeeping Indian batter, Rishabh Pant. He feels the cricketer’s batting is suffering because of his excess weight. Danish termed Pant overweight and bulky.
“Maybe because he is slightly overweight and bulky, he can’t come up that quickly, and he doesn’t have that much time. He just stays bent back and low, he doesn’t sit down properly,”
Moreover, Kaneria advised the BCCI to rest Pant and instead play Wriddhiman Saha. He believes Pant can improve his batting while working on his fitness in the break time.
“Rishabh Pant will have to improve his batting style. There is KS Bharat available and I don’t see any wrong in bringing in Wriddhiman Saha. Just give a break to Rishabh Pant,”
It must be noted that Pant is leading India in a five-match T20I series versus South Africa. He has scored only 258 wickets in 80 first-class matches and in 49 List A matches, he took 65 wickets.
