Nick Hockley, the CEO of Cricket Australia (CA), is eager to see Tim Paine getting back to the team despite his recently popped-up scandal.
Paine, who retired from Australia‘s red-ball captainship last week with tears, also took an indefinite break from all forms of cricket and as speculated, might never play for the nation again.
All the drama came in the enlightenment of the fact that he sent inappropriate texts to a female co-worker at Cricket Tasmania in 2017. CA came to know about the scandal in 2018 but supported its player to lead the team and backed the team’s reputation following the Cape Town cheating crisis.
Hockley added,
“Would love to see him play again, for both his state and for Australia. We want to see him back out there, playing and performing, as quickly as possible.”

Notably, Pat Cummins was named the new captain after Paine stepped down and is currently leading Australia in the ongoing Ashes Test series 2021-22 as his first task.
