Bumrah breaks Brian Lara's and many others' record

Jasprit Bumrah’s destructive gameplay against England’s senior pacer has broken the past records. The tailender is now the cricketer with most runs in an over in Test cricket smashing 35 runs to Broad in the 84th over of the first inning.

India were almost departing losing five early wickets under three digits, however, the score was paced up by Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant’s blooming centuries. The score was further elevated by Bumrah’s showering runs as he smacked Broad for two sixes, out of which one came off a no-ball, four fours, five wides, and a single on the last ball.

The social media users now remind Broad of another expensive over that came against Yuvraj Singh in World Cup 2007. Yuvraj smashed the bowler six back-to-back sixes, gathering 36 runs from an over, and the record still holds its majesty.

As if it was forgettable, another Indian, Bumrah, has given something extraordinary to remember to Broad. His magnificent approach is discussed all over as the batter stayed not out after assisting the team plus 400 in the first inning.

Doing so, he has broken the record of West Indies’ Brian Lara, who scored 28 runs in an over against South Africa’s Robin Peterson. The record was jointly held by Australia’s George Bailey and South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj.

Also, Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi is now fifth on the list, who scored 27 runs in an over, exploiting Indian leg spinner Yuvraj Singh in the longest format.

As far as the match is concerned, it was affected by rain during England’s first inning but is continued at the time of writing. The score currently is: India’s first inning 416 (84.5), England’s first inning 78/3 currently.
