The captain of the Pakistan Cricket Team Babar Azam and the head coach Saqlain Mushtaq have demanded a 20% salary raise for all the centrally contracted players.
It must be noted the Pakistan Cricket Board will release the updated central contracts list on June 1st as the existing contracts expire on May 30th. The PCB has already integrated discussion in regard and major changes are expected in the revised list.
In the newly issued central contracts 2022-23, multiple new names are likely to be added whereas, some of the cricketers, including Hasan Ali, might be demoted. The top performers will probably be moving up to the better categories.
According to sources, Mushtaq and Babar have presented their point of view on the central contracts 2022-23 and feel a need for a salary raise by 20%.
Apart from the national team contract, talks about domestic central contracts are going on. The concerned panel will review the categories, budgets, number of players, and monthly raises for both lists.
