After securing a historic win over Sri Lanka in the first test match, Pakistan have climbed up to the third spot in the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 rankings.
Things almost looked impossible for the men in green to chase a score of 300+ in the final inning, but Abdullah Shafiq, alongside some decent contributions from the skipper, made things easier for Pakistan.
The guests are now with 56 points in third place with a winning percentage of 58.33. It has garnished their chance to qualify for the WTC 23 final.
However, the loss has caused Sri Lanka adversely. They have dropped to three places, making it difficult to qualify for the tournament.
The first two teams are South Africa and Australia, respectively, with the winning percentages of 71.43 and 70. Pakistan’s arch-rivals India are a spot below them with 52.08%.
