Encountering the table-toppers Multan Sultans on Wednesday, Karachi Kings have lost the eighth consecutive match of the Pakistan Super League’s seventh edition (PSL 2022). The eighth back-to-back defeats in a single season for Kings have broken the prior record of Lahore Qalandars who lost six games in a row during PSL 2018.
Not only this, but Kings now have overall nine back-to-back defeats on counting the play-off failure versus Peshawar Zalmi during PSL 2021. Qalandars were toppers of losing most games in PSL overall as they had eight defeats from 2017-18. Also, they lost seven games straightaway from PSL 2018-19.
Kings are now the only team to lose the most number of consecutive matches in a single PSL season and most back-to-back matches overall.
They got out of the tournament officially after their last defeat versus Islamabad United, however, Sultans, who won their seventh game out of eight played, have qualified for the playoffs becoming the first team to do so.
People have got a lot to react and say on MS vs KK encounter. Let’s have a look:
One of the journalists bashed at Wasim Akram saying Babar Azam is not only the one to be at mistake. But, it’s the entire KK management that is flopped.
Was Wasim Akram going harsh on Babar Azam on the boundary line?If so then it's totally wrong! You can't do that to captain of national team. Did Babar chose squad of Karachi Kings? It is only Babar who's performing for KK. Babar at the receiving end of anger is unjustified!#HBLPSL7 pic.twitter.com/QEHJmU8YS8

Another journalist highlighted the unwanted records achieved by the Kings.
A new PSL record by Karachi Kings. They've lost 9 consecutive matches in the league. 8 this year and 1 last year. This is longest losing streak of any team in the Pakistan Super League, previous was 8 matches between two editions by LQ. #LevelHai

An unwanted record: Karachi Kings have now lost EIGHT matches this season already. They have broken the record set by Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans (7 each) from 2019. No team has lost more in the preliminary stage of a single six-team season in the PSL. #HBLPSL7

A public figure defend Babar Azam terming him a lone warrior who fought for his team but still got criticised.
Babar Azam remained lone warrior for Karachi Kings in entire #HBLPSL7 but still got criticism upon strikerate. What about Sharjeel Khan who has a primary role to play quick in powerplay? Karachi Kings failed to utilize PP and so Sharjeel Khan completely failed to deliver in PSL7! pic.twitter.com/wLWEXflz42

A cricket page talked about how fans had hopes from their team till the very last moment.
Do you know know what is Karachi Kings greatest achievement?

When Multan were struggling after having scored a paltry 105 in 15 overs, 7.9 billion people still believed in them & that they could take us through the finish line ❤️
While rest of the fans got trolling posts for the Kings. Let’s have a look at some of them:
