The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is programmed to take place after the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) as the two massive events will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by the year’s end.
Being the original host of the Wt20, India could not facilitate themselves up amidst the poor health conditions in the country. Hence, the ICC has endorsed the UAE as the venue to host the extravaganza.
Moreover, the IPL 2021 was being staged flawlessly in India until the COVID-19 surge in the realm struck the camp. Then, unwillingly, the BCCI had to suspend the league looking for another preferable venue to complete the release.
Being a center of cricket, UAE has hosted numerous international matches, home series, world events, and tournaments. Gaining the attraction despite its busy hosting schedule in the year, the BCCI-UAE have mutually agreed upon progressing the world’s cash-rich league just before the T20 World Cup.
The official schedules of the league and the World Cup are yet to be on-screened. However, the BCCI is most likely to recommence the show in September, winding it a few days before the world’s event. Later, the T20 Worl Cup 2021 will run from October to November.
Earlier, it was speculated that UAE’s venues have no space to grant the IPL but, the assumptions turned out to be wrong as the event will be staged in all three mega ground of the Arab Nation.
T20 World Cup to take place after IPL 2021
The secretary of the Indian board, Jay Shah, uttered that,
“We will stage it (T20 World Cup 2021) there in the UAE after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021). We will inform the International Cricket Council soon,”
