Shoaib Akhtar reacts appropriately to Sehwag’s blames

Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has taken notice of Virender Sehwag’s recent comments against him. Talking to the media, the ex-Indian cricketer claimed Akhtar’s bowling action was illegal and accused him of chucking.

He narrated that the fast bowler used to jerk his elbow. Comparing Akhtar with past Australian cricketer Brett Lee, Sehwag said Lee’s actions were understandable to judge the ball but those of Akhtar were unexpected.

“Shoaib knows he used to jerk his elbow; he knew he was chucking too. Why would ICC ban him otherwise? Brett Lee’s hand came down straight, so it was easy to pick the ball. But with Shoaib, you could never guess where the hand and the ball will come from.”

Sehwag accepted fearing the Pakistani bowler, whose record of bowling the fastest cricket ball ever is yet unbroken. Despite all his comments, Akhtar has denied furiously getting back to him and says he does not want to spoil the years-old relationship.

Akhtar said he will not say anything because one should avoid creating controversies at this age of life. His statements read,

“Sehwag should avoid saying such things as it will weaken a good relationship. I will not say anything in response because Sehwag is my good friend. He was a very good cricketer and the best opener India ever had. At this age, I remain careful while making statements,”

The former pacer also stated that everyone in India and Pakistan finds his bowling action legal except Sehwag. Defending his bowling action, Shoaib Akhtar said that Sehwag cannot know more than the International Cricket Council (ICC).

“I don’t think Sehwag knows more than ICC. The international body had cleared my bowling action. Except for him, everyone in India and Pakistan considers my bowling action legal,”
