Ramiz Raja not to travel Colombo for ACC meeting

Ramiz Raja not to travel Colombo for ACC meeting

Faisal Hasnain, the Chief Executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board and the chairman Mr. Ramiz Raja will not head towards Sri Lanka, Colombo for attending the meeting organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) ahead of Asia Cup 2022. Instead, the PCB officials will join the meeting online due to their cricket-packed schedule.

It must be noted the PCB is currently hosting Pakistan vs Australia. The two teams have played two red-ball contests out of three and will undergo as many ODIs, and the one-off T20I after the conclusion of the final Test.

What will Ramiz Raja discuss in ACC meeting?

In the recent developments, Raja stated he will discuss the future of Indo-Pak cricket with Sourav Ganguly, who is the president of the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI). His statements came in the enlightenment of Cricket Australia’s (CA) offer to host a tri-series including India and Pakistan.

Since Ramiz understands bilateral series are now old, tri-nation and four-nation series have the futures, he has imposed an idea of hosting a four-nation series including Australia, India, and England rather than a tri-series in Australia.

It must be noted PCB, on a sudden note, respond to CA’s statement but BCCI is yet to show any interest. That is why Ramiz has decided to put up the matter in the ACC meeting. He further stated if India is reluctant, Pakistan will soon host the tri-nation series with England and Australia.

It must be noted the ACC meeting is scheduled for 19th March in Colombo and will discuss various aspects of the Asia Cup. This year’s season will be organized in Sri Lanka before the ICC World Cup 2022.
