The Pakistan Super League (PSL 6) has although got a green signal from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to host the remaining matches of the league but there are some clarifications that still need to be cleared. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and six PSL franchises considered a virtual meeting today according to which, if these clarifications are not acknowledged, the event might be postponed indefinitely.
Wasim Khan, the CEO of the PCB said that they are waited to get information on some areas before the game commences and if they remain pending till Thursday, there will be no possibility to recommence the PSL 6.
PSL 6: Bad news for fans
“In today’s online discussion, we updated the team owners that the PCB had been advised that the PSL had received approvals from the relevant authorities in the UAE. However, some clarifications on certain exemption requests are still awaited, which are expected at some stage on Thursday.
“The team owners agreed that if we do not receive clarity by Thursday afternoon, then they’ll have no other option but to request postponement of the remaining 20 matches.
In the due time, the PCB has decided to communicate with the UAE and ECB. Wasim revealed that the hosts are eager too to host the HBL PSL 6 that is due to begin by 1st June. Notably, the final is to be played on 20th June.
“In the meantime, we will continue to liaise with the UAE government and the Emirates Cricket Board as they are equally keen for the event to be held in the UAE.”
