Pak vs NZ: Pakistan underwent their second encounter of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 against the newly made arch-rivals, New Zealand, and sustained a majestic victory over them.
After winning the toss, Pakistan opted to bowl first and the bowlers overpowered the Black Caps’ batters entirely. The Kiwis could not surpass 134 runs as the green shirts’ bowlers, including the striving of Haris Rauf’s pace, collapsed their batting line-up.
Rauf, who was highly criticized for being selected in the Pakistan T20 World Cup squad following his lost form, has been picturing the energy he holds. He clutched the four-wicket haul that is now appreciated and discussed all across the cricket world.
For the men in green, the chase started a bit slower for the men in green and almost looked impossible till Imad Wasim’s fall. Losing Babar Azam in the powerplay was a huge setback as the batter on the crease kept on looking for a partner to build a partnership with.
Later, Asif Ali, another appreciated candidate who was under the hot waters, played an astonishing inning, turning in a match-winning knock with 27* off 12 balls. He joined anticipated Shoaib Malik on the pitch who was sensibly dragging it deep for the nation.
Despite the cherishing win, the Kiwi bowlers must be proud of how they fought back with the length while dispatching bowls.
