New Zealand qualify for semifinal, England to go home

The final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 witnesses New Zealand as the prime ones as they thrashed away Eoin Morgan’s England by five wickets.

Three years, three finals – what a journey it has been for the Kane Williamson-led side.

After winning the toss, Williamson opted to bowl first. The decision, which looked fruitless for a moment, turned out to be fruitful by the end as the batters chose not to give up, revenging the ICC ODI World Cup 2019 venture v England.

The black bowlers sustained a decent-looking target of 167 runs that looked quite critical to chasing on the tricky Zayed’s pitch.

After the Kiwis stepped on the field to chase, they lost two wickets and stood at 50 after nine overs. Scoring 100 and more runs in the next 11 overs were apparently hard but Daryl Mitchell and Devon Conway almost reached fate including the thrilling heroics of James Neesham.

On the other hand, England, which was one of the phenomenal sides of the T20 World Cup 2021, will now prepare to fly back home despite all the optimism they had to be in the final.

New Zealand now anticipate their rival, who will be one from Australia or Pakistan in the showdown as the final is scheduled to take place on 14th November. Notably, the Aus vs Pak semifinal is cataloged to be played on 11th November.
