Maliha Baig is another gem who struck gold with her wicketkeeping skill. She is the wicket-keeper batswoman of the Canadian Women’s Cricket team.
She was the captain of her high school cricket team as well. But since then she had stopped for some reason. She got back into the cricket 2 years ago when she played in the Scarborough Cricket League. She was part of the Ontario Greens team, who were crowned as the winners of the Canada Day Cup, 2018.
She was also one of the most contributive members of the Ontario team in the nationals.
Baig represented Canada Women HP team in the U19 West Indies tournament, 2019, and ICC Americas World Cup qualifiers against the arch-rivals, the USA Women Cricket Team, 2019
Baig has been an exceptional all-rounder as well. She was also the Tranzac CC in the Scarborough Women’s League. Her best performance came against
Trinity Women in that league when she grabbed two catches and played a role in 3 stumpings.
She also the Head Cricket Coach for EOSCL, Milton for Girls under 12
She idolizes English superstar cricketer, Sarah Taylor. It was not long when she started keeping the wickets herself and in no time she bagged the place in the Canadian team.
Maliha went to George Harvey Collegiate Institute, Toronto and she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from York University, Ontario. She currently resides in Milton Ontario.
