Lahore Qalandars set the highest target of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 7) in their opening encounter versus Multan Sultans but fail to defend despite putting 206 on the board.
Qalandars had a thrilling start with worth-watching batting as Fakhar Zaman was in action alongside Kamran Ghulam adding 76 off 35 balls and 43 off 31 balls respectively.
Sultans, although did not do much in the bowling depart, picked five Qalandars as Imran Tahir, Khushdil Shah, David Willey, Ihsanullah, Shahnawaz Dahani, plucked one wicket apiece. But, they rocked whilst batting.
The National Stadium’s batting-friendly pitch aided Mohammad Rizwan and men triumph in 19.4 overs adding 209 to finish it off with a style. Qalandars’ Shaheen’s three-wicket haul went fruitless.
Rashid Khan and Haris Rauf clutched one wicket for each. Rizwan’s inning of 69 off 42 balls and Shan Masood’s 83 from 50 balls assisted Sultans to put up their second consecutive win of the PSL 7.
