Babar Azam has remained World’s number one T20I batsman. He occupied the post for more than a year and stayed there longer than any Pakistani batsmen.

He reached 1470 T20I runs being the number one T20I batsman but then he slid down after KL Rahul came out to be a better one than Babar.

As of now, with the latest ICC ranking updates, Dawid Malan is the ranked number one T20I batsman with India’s Rahul dropped to second.

Is Babar Azam failing to perform in T20Is?

Australia’s Aaron Finch has climbed up to two sliding Babar even down as Pakistan’s master of cover drives is now ranking 4th on the list.

Notably, he missed the T20I series against New Zealand after his thumb injury became a serious obstacle in the way.

In his absence, Shadab captained the side and Pakistan faced a horrendous defeat. He missed the test series either.

Later, when South Africa Cricket Team voyaged Pakistan, Babar featured after a slight recovery from injury but it became hard for him to score straight away after missing on the field for months.

In a three-match T20I series, Babar scored 0, 5, and 44 runs res[ectively. People hope to see him as the number one T20I batsman once again.
