Ind vs WI: Kohli misses out as BCCI names squad for T20I series

Ind vs WI: The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday named an 18-player squad for the upcoming away t20I series versus the West Indies. And, the experts are not shocked to see Virat Kohli missed out.

Kohli’s suffering form over the last few months has been questionable placing his spot in doubt. The cricket enthusiasts have every right to strongly feel if the ex-skipper has really been rested for the series or has been dropped.

Despite the struggles to score the 71st international century, Kohli’s work with the bat has not been up to the mark lately. Consequently, it pushes him to useless aggression on the field, down with himself, and not having enough to appeal the watchers and selectors.

It is now to see if the board will consider the 33-year-old in its future plans. All ifs and buts will be certain once BCCI named a squad for the Asia Cup 2022, scheduled to begin in August 2022. Notably, out of the ODI and T20I squad, Kohli will not be in action for a month.

Getting back to India’s squad for the five-match T20I series against the West Indies, the bowlers Yuzvendra Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah have been excluded. The notable inclusions are Kuldeep Yadav and KL Rahul who have make it in through the fitness levels. Ravi Ashwin has done enough to inspire the panel.
