According to the recent developments of cricket in India, the cryptic tweet of Sourav Ganguly went viral, which somehow hinted at his retirement as the President of the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI). The former cricketer wrote that the calendar year marks the 30-year completion of his cricketing career and now that he is looking to begin a new chapter of his life.
The Tweet has left the readers confused as they highly assume Ganguly has retired as BCCI President. 30 minutes after his tweet created a mess on the internet, the BCCI secretary jay Shah reported to Asian News International that Dada has not stepped from his post.
Moreover, some sources are citing that Ganguly submitted a resignation letter to the BCCI which was not accepted. It must be noted he became the board’s president in October 2019 and September 2022 marks 3-year completion of his tenure. Submitting the resignation letter four months earlier than the due time has jolted the Indian Cricket Fans.
His tweet reads,
“2022 marks the 30th year since the start of my journey with cricket in 1992. Since then, Cricket has given me a lot. Most importantly, it has given me the support of all of you. I want to thank every single person who has been a part of the journey, supported me, and helped me reach where I am today. Today, I am planning to start something that I feel will probably help a lot of people. I hope you continue your support as I enter this chapter of my life,”
