The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that the paceman Jofra Archer is no more part of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021). Rajasthan Royals (RR) are under the serious blow for missing out on Archer who indeed is a terrific pacer.
He underwent surgery to remove a piece of glass from his right hand’s tendon. His attempt to clean the fish tank went wrong and ended up injuring himself.
ECB pulls Jofra Archer out of IPL 2021, read why?
Archer had been a star player for RR in the last season of the IPL. As of now, he had been clear for the minimal training and will proceed to cricketing action next month reportedly.
“Archer returned to bowling this week with higher intensity, and the ECB and Sussex medical teams will continue to monitor his progress,” the ECB said in a statement.
“Archer will now step up his training regime starting next week and will be in full training with Sussex. It is expected that he will return to cricket in the next fortnight if he can continue to bowl and prepare pain-free.”
Archer is second England’s player to get injured in the RR’s camp as the all-rounder Ben Stokes broke his finger during the first match of his team.
