Pakistan’s all-format captain, Babar Azam, has surpassed ex-Indian skipper Virat Kohli in achieving another record. On Sunday, on Day 2 of the Pak vs SL 1st Test, under play at Galle Cricket Stadium, Azam became the fastest Asian batter to score 10,000 international runs.
The world’s number one ODI and T20I batter has taken only 228 innings to do so, whereas Kohli reached the feat in 232 innings. Babar touched the record with the courtesy of his hundred, as he slammed 119 of 244 balls.
Not only this, but he is now the fastest Pakistani to score 10,000 international runs. Earlier, one of the greatest batters, Javed Miandad, held the record, who took 248 innings to do so.
