Australia hand over an embarrassing defeat to Pakistan in 1st ODI

During the ongoing historic Australia tour of Pakistan, the guests have handed over a wide-margined defeat to the hosts winning the first ODI of the three-match series by 88 runs.

Babar Azam and men won the toss and elected to field, however, many blunders let them concede a hefty target of 314 runs. Australia could have proceeded 350 but at a certain point, after 30th overs, they lost the momentum. Yet on missing some runs with dot balls, they managed to compile 313 on the loss of seven men from 300 balls.

The Aussie’s batters showed supremacy. Travis Head scored 101 from 72 balls and put a solid start to their inning. The debut player Ben McDermott made 55 from 77 deliveries, also, Cameron Green’s 40 from 30 balls contributed to their 300 plus score.

Fakhar Zaman was sent back on 18 runs striking 100, however, Imam ul Haq made sure to bring his eighth ODI century. The left-hander kept on losing partners since no one except Babar Azam could manage 50 or plus runs. Azam’s gradual 57 that came on 72 balls was followed by no contributions from others lined up.

Adam Zampa played a crucial role and plucked three wickets conceding 38 runs bowling all his overs. Travis Head and Mitchell Swepson gathered two wickets apiece conceding 35 and 53 runs sequentially in six and 8.2 overs.

The Aussie bowlers, just like their batting, left no inaccuracy in bowling. No bowler’s economy rose over five and they managed to tackle all Pakistani batters going on 225 in 45.2 overs.
